However, this success cannot be achieved alone - he will need the support of the whole team in the upcoming match against Austria in the round of 16 on Thursday.
As often happens when it comes to players from Real Madrid or Barcelona, before the start of the tournament there was a debate about who should be the main goalkeeper: Simon or Joan Garcia. This debate intensified after Luis de la Fuente called up Garcia for the friendly matches against Serbia and Egypt and included him in the final squad for the tournament, along with David Raya, who is also part of the goalkeeping line. However, this was nothing more than a fictitious dispute.
