Francisco Conceicao, the Juventus striker, has denied reports that he threw a tantrum after being substituted in the Europa League match against Celta Vigo. He stated, "I want this to be clear because I don't want people to tell the truth." The Portuguese started the match but was substituted after Nic Voltemade equalized with a goal scored by Hugo Alvarez.

Randall Kolo Muani scored the winning goal in the final minutes of the match to give Juventus a 2-1 victory and maintain their 100 percent record in the Europa League. However, reports soon emerged that Conceicao allegedly reacted to his substitution with anger, hitting the bench and quickly leaving for the dressing room after a discussion with staff member Luciano Spalletti.

“I want to make it clear that I did not quarrel with anyone,” Conceicao told Sky Sport Italia. "I came out, hit where I was sitting on the bench, but did not speak to a member of the staff. I went into the locker room to change my shirt, go to the toilet and came back a few minutes later. I want that to be clear because I don't want people to tell the truth."

Spalletti also commented on the situation in the post-match interview, hinting that Conceicao "should be unhappy with himself" for his performance, but ensured his staff denied any reports of a conflict. “We need to talk about the second half of the match because we won, we got three important points in the Europa League and we have to continue like this,” Conceicao added.

Juventus was losing 0-1 in the first half of the match, so what did Spalletti say to the team during the break? "He said we won't win if we continue like this, always late to the ball, to the tackles, to the runs. We have to think about what we want to do first. I think we gave a strong response, played the kind of football we coach, scored two goals and could have scored many more," he said.

Juventus now have little time to rest as they prepare for their next match against Lazio, which is on a good run. "We know Lazio are in good shape but we can build on this second half, we also want to go up the table and get three important points."

What happens next

After this incident, Conceicao will likely focus on improving his game to avoid criticism in the future. Juventus will continue to play in the Europa League and will be expected to perform consistently, especially given his role in attack. Spalletti, in turn, will monitor the condition of the players in order to maintain team spirit.
