Rodri causes discontent in Real Madrid

According to Mundodeportivo.

Context

Rodri, formerly of Manchester City, has become an important figure at Barcelona, making his loss particularly painful for Real Madrid. With the departure of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, Madrid are left without an experienced manager, highlighting the need for such players to succeed in La Liga.

Why is this important

Rodri has become a key player for Barcelona, highlighting his importance to the team and La Liga football in general. His absence from Real Madrid is causing dissatisfaction among fans, especially given the high expectations after significant investment in the squad. Criticism against Madrid is intensifying amid their failures in recent matches, which calls into question the effectiveness of their strategy.

Key takeaways

• Rodri causes discontent in Real Madrid.
• Real Madrid faced criticism after failing to sign Rodri, who is now shining at Barcelona and becoming an important part of the team.
• Rodri escuece en el Real Madrid.

After seven rounds of La Liga, Real Madrid are six points behind Barcelona and the performance of Hansi Flick's team is significantly different from that of Madrid under Jose Mourinho. While the Catalans receive rave reviews for their attacking football and convincing wins, Madrid face criticism, especially after investing heavily in their squad. One of the main reasons for the discontent in Real Madrid is the absence of Rodri, who, after the departure of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, would have been the ideal organizer of the game. Just before this season, it was unanimously believed in Madrid circles that it was the ex-Manchester City player who should have become a key acquisition. Despite initial doubts when Rodri was presented as one of the trump cards of Florentino Perez's opponent in the presidential elections, the Real Madrid president decided to try to sign him. However, when Barcelona showed serious interest in the player, Rodri chose this club. In a recent interview, he thanked the Madrid club for their interest and good attitude, but said that his choice fell on Barça. Instead of looking for alternative solutions after the unsuccessful signing, Real relied on Bernard Silva, who, however, is not an organizer, but is more suited to the position of an attacking midfielder, like Arda Guler. In the results of the last matches, Real suffered two defeats - from Betis and Atlético, and victories over Espanyol and Elche were achieved only in stoppage time. While Rodri, who now shines for Barcelona, has been a real find for the team, he has quickly gained recognition among the fans. As recent matches have shown, Rodri has become a key player for Barcelona, actively participating in both attacking and defensive actions. He assists defenders with the ball, offers solutions in difficult situations and even drops into defense to prevent dangerous situations in front of his goal, as he did in the last match against Sevilla. In Madrid, many are wondering how they failed to persuade Rodri to sign, while in Barcelona his presence is being celebrated as a historic event for the club. His transfer was not only successful, but also significant, because he had already become not just a player, but a real idol for Barca fans. Thus, Real Madrid, under significant pressure after a failed signing, continues to look for a way to improve their game and restore confidence to their fans.

What happens next

Real Madrid are likely to look for alternative options to strengthen their midfield line, especially after failing to sign Rodri. While the team continues to struggle, the focus could be on other players like Bernarda Silva or Ardu Guler who can add creativity to the game. However, without a true organizer like Rodri, Real will find it difficult to compete with Barcelona in La Liga.
