Remko Pasvir returns to FC Twente in a dual role

Remko Pasvir returns to FC Twente. The 42-year-old goalkeeper finds himself back where it all began. Pasveer will play a dual role as he will also serve as a mentor. FC Twente announced this on Thursday evening.

After the departure of Přemyslav Titon (free agent transfer) and Sam Karrsis (on loan at FC Emmen), technical director Erik ten Hag was looking for a new competitor for Lars Unnerstall. Previously, ten Hag also signed Wout Weghorst. As a result, ten Hag chose Pasvir, who began his career at FC Twente. The goalkeeper, originally from Enschede, made his debut in the main team of the club in 2004.

Ten Hag is pleased with the arrival of an experienced player. “Remco has a wealth of experience and will be an important addition to our goalkeeping line next season,” he said.

Pasvir has also played for clubs such as Heracles Almelo, Go Ahead Eagles, PSV, Vitesse and Ajax, and in the last six months he played for relegated Heracles.

In addition, Pasvir will have a dual role at Twente as he will mentor young goalkeepers. “Together with our goalkeeping coach Erik Weghorst, Remco will also serve as a mentor to our goalkeeping talent and will have the opportunity to focus on the role after the end of his active career,” added ten Hag.

Pasvir is looking forward to the new stage in Enschede: “I will be ready when needed and want to use my experience to help other goalkeepers improve. In addition, I will support goalkeepers who are just starting their professional career. At FC Twente it all started for me as a young goalkeeper and it is nice to be back in this way,” the goalkeeper said on the club website.
