🚨 Andreas Christensen signs a new contract with FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona officially announced on Wednesday the extension of Andreas Christensen's contract for two additional seasons. The Danish centre-back, whose contract expired in 2026, is now committed to the Catalan club until June 30, 2028. The official signing will be celebrated shortly at a ceremony at the club offices.

At the age of 30, Christensen is preparing to spend his fifth season at blaugrana. He joined the club on a free transfer from Chelsea in the summer of 2022 and has established himself as an important part of Barcelona's defense with his excellent tactical instincts and solid defending.


However, Christensen's final season was greatly disrupted by a serious knee injury. The defender suffered a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament, which left him out of action for 158 days. He made a successful return to the field on the final day of La Liga at the Mestalla Stadium.
