Tottenham are interested in Eli Junior Kroupi with a transfer price of £80m
Tottenham Hotspur are targeting Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi as part of a significant summer spending spree. The club is seeking to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi has emerged as one of Tottenham Hotspur's main targets ahead of the new season as the club continues its active transfer campaign in the Premier League. Under Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham are aiming to complete all key signings before the start of pre-season, with the support of a new football structure ready to invest in a squad that needs to be revamped.
With midfielders Manolo Fernandez and Sandro Tonali already signed for a combined fee of around £185m, the focus is now on the attacking line. Kroupi is high on the list of desired players, although competition for his signature promises to be fierce. The Bournemouth star is also interested in Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, with the south coast club expecting to receive more than £80 million for the 20-year-old.
However, Tottenham are willing to spend again to avoid a repeat of their poor seasons, which saw the club risk relegation despite success in the Europa League. Options are also being discussed with Rafael Leao in informal talks with Milan, and Tottenham have not ruled out the possibility of signing Savigno, who the club have been actively tracking last year. According to The Independent, interest has also been shown in James Trafford during negotiations with Manchester City.
With the club able to sign up to three new players, including a striker to bolster their attack, Tottenham will continue to strengthen their squad. Jan Paul Van Heck was acquired from Brighton for £52 million despite only having one year left on his contract. The club also signed Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka on a free transfer. If Fernandes, Tonali, Trafford and a player of Kroupi's caliber are brought into the squad, Tottenham could become one of the biggest spenders this transfer window, with a total spend of around £350m.
