Case Smith: "I wouldn't mind staying in AZ"

Case Smith, the talented AZ midfielder, has been the subject of debate among football fans as to whether he will leave this summer or stay in Alkmaar. In an interview with VI PRO, Smith spoke about his plans for the future and that he still has a contract with AZ until mid-2028.

“I wouldn’t mind staying in AZ and spending the whole season at No. 10, but I wouldn’t mind going to a new challenge,” Smith said. He added that the opportunity to train and play at a higher level will make him a better footballer.

According to Smith, the situation is calm now: “There is interest from many clubs, but nothing concrete has been received yet. I remain calm and wait to see what happens."

Smith also expressed hope to take the number ten position in AZ, which he dreamed of last season, but his place was taken by Sven Minas, who was also present at the first training session. It is expected that Minas will be able to go on transfer. Smith added: “If I stay I want to become a bigger part of the team, scoring more goals and assists like Sven did last season, maybe even better.”
