Real Madrid could use Nico Paz transfer to open path to €70m for the defender

Real Madrid's plans for the summer transfer window could include two separate transfers, which would benefit the club. As the Spanish giants prepare to make a final decision on Nico Paz's future, fresh reports are emerging that the midfielder's next move could indirectly help Real Madrid in their bid to land Internazionale defender Alessandro Bastoni.

According to Ciro Lopez (via Madrid Zone), there is a growing belief that a transfer involving Nico Paz and Inter could strengthen the relationship between the two clubs during negotiations for Bastogne. While both processes are being conducted independently, they could end up mutually enriching each other if negotiations progress in the coming days.

Real Madrid have already decided to activate the buyout option for Nico Paz, paying €9 million, which brings the Argentine back under the control of the club. The move also gives Como the option to re-sign the youngster for €60 million, although that option only remains valid until Monday. Therefore, the coming days should be decisive for the future of Nico, who is being closely watched by several clubs. Among them is Inter, who have identified the Argentine as a player capable of strengthening their midfield ahead of the new season.


If Inter formally express interest, Real would negotiate directly with the Serie A club. This could prove significant given the excellent working relationship between the two sides. While Nico's transfer would be a separate deal, it could help create a smoother atmosphere for negotiations should Real decide to pursue their interest in Bastogne later.

It is important to note that strengthening the defense is one of Real's priorities before the transfer window closes. The main obstacle remains in the valuation of Internazionale, who are reported to want around €70 million for Bastogne, which is a sum that Real are currently not willing to pay. That's why Niko's situation could be a big factor. If Inter intensify their attempts to sign the Argentine, Real would gain valuable leverage in discussions and could try to negotiate a lower price for Bastogne as part of wider negotiations between the two clubs.
