Milan set to sign Hüllmand for €45 million, Amorim wants to reunite with Sporting captain

Ruben Amorim wants to bring Morten Hjulmand to Milan this summer as the Danish midfielder has been identified as the ideal candidate to bolster the midfield in his new 3-4-2-1 system. Hjulmand is available at a significant discount from his €80 million release clause. He joined Sporting Lecce for €20 million in the summer of 2023 and has since become one of the club's key figures, receiving the captain's armband and almost losing his market value. His development at Sporting had a lot to do with Amorim himself, which makes the reunion especially significant as the Portuguese coach begins his project in Milan, according to CalcioMercato. The key financial point is the private agreement Hullmand reached with Sporting a year ago: in exchange for agreeing to stay in Lisbon for another season, the club promised to release him in 2026 for a preferential price of €45 million instead of a full release clause.
