NYCFC are interested in Christian Pulisic, but AC Milan say he is not for sale

New York City FC (NYCFC) are interested in a possible transfer of Christian Pulisic, but his club AC Milan has made it clear that the USA star is not for sale, sources familiar with the situation say. NYCFC are not the only MLS club that would like to sign Pulisic if Milan softens its stance, sources add. The first reports of NYCFC's interest appeared in Gazzetta Dello Sport. Pulisic is under contract until next summer, but Milan have an option to extend his contract for a further 12 months, which effectively means he is under team control until the summer of 2028. As reported earlier on Wednesday, Pulisic's contract situation could make him a target for other clubs this summer. For now, sources say the striker is focused solely on Team USA and the World Cup. Milan is currently undergoing organizational changes. The club have just replaced Massimiliano Allegri with Ruben Amorim as head coach after the Italian failed to qualify Milan for the Champions League. Sporting director Igli Tare, general manager Giorgio Furlani and technical director Geoffrey Moncada also left the club at the end of the season. Pulisic, 27, has scored 33 goals in 87 caps for the United States and is on track to return from injury against Turkey on Thursday. He has been one of Milan's best players since joining from Chelsea in 2023. NYCFC is moving to a new stadium in Queens, New York, scheduled to open in the summer of 2027. The club has been one of the most successful in MLS over the past decade. The team fielded David Villa, Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo in the late 2010s, but have since moved away from the model of signing European stars. Pulisic would become one of the league's top stars if he came to the United States anytime soon. In the 2025-26 season, Pulisic was one of the best players in Serie A in the early months, but like others at Milan, he finished the season on a downturn, not scoring a single goal after December. The American striker still finished with eight goals and six assists in 1,611 minutes in Serie A last year. He will certainly want to improve on all three next season.
