Official: Marseille received suspension of exclusion from the Europa League and a fine of €10 million for violating the agreement with UEFA

Marseille Football Club has received a suspended exclusion from the Europa League and a fine of €10 million from UEFA. This decision is due to the club's violation of the agreement with the federation. The first branch of the UEFA Club Financial Supervisory Authority confirmed that Marseille did not achieve the ultimate goal of the agreement as it did not comply with financial rules for the 2025/26 season.

UEFA also noted a significant and unexpected decline in television revenue in Ligue 1, which affected the club's financial performance. Given this and the limited nature of Marseille's offence, the club was given exclusion from the next UEFA club competition, in this case the Europa League, for which it would qualify for the next three seasons if it failed to meet the financial requirements for the following season.

In addition, Marseille will be limited in their ability to register new players on List A for UEFA competitions. The club also faced two fines totaling €10 million.
