Martinez is seen as one of the main candidates. The specialist has led the Portuguese national team since January 2023 and won the UEFA Nations League with the team in 2024. At the 2026 World Cup, the Portuguese are playing in Group K, where in the first round on June 17 they drew with DR Congo (1:1). Roberto Martinez's team will play the next match with the Uzbekistan team on June 23.
