Tomas Suchek insists he is ready to do whatever it takes to help West Ham return to the Premier League after recovering from an ankle injury. The Hammers finished the season in 18th place in the English top division, losing two points to their rivals from Tottenham and ending up in the Championship. West Ham were relegated from the Premier League for the first time since 2010-11 on 39 points - the highest of any team relegated on the same number of points since Birmingham and Blackpool were relegated on 39 points in 2010-11.

Suchek appeared in 35 of his side's 38 matches in the 2025-26 season, scoring five goals, the fourth-most in the team, winning 136 duels and making 24 tackles. West Ham's Championship campaign starts on August 16 against relegated Burnley, but Suchek is likely to miss the opening games of the 2026-27 season. The 31-year-old suffered an ankle injury while playing for the Czech Republic at the World Cup and West Ham confirmed he had damaged ligaments.

Despite the setback and doubts over his future, Suchek is determined to help the Hammers regain their top-flight status. “This is not how I imagined the end of the season,” wrote Suchek on his X account. “Not with West Ham, not with the Czech Republic, and certainly not with the injury. I’m sorry that we couldn’t give our fans the moments and results that you deserved. That upsets me more than anything. It’s good that in football there is...” - Tomas Suchek (@tomassoucek28) June 30 2026

"Not with West Ham, not with the Czech Republic and certainly not with injury. I'm sorry we couldn't give our fans the moments and results you deserved. That's what upsets me more than anything. In 12 years of my professional career I've been lucky to avoid serious injuries. Now I'll have to face a challenge I've never faced before. But everyone who knows me knows one thing: I never give up! I've only had one thing on my mind since the season ended. West Ham United This club means so much to me and I'm willing to do everything in my power to get it back to where it needs to be in the Premier League, I'll be supporting the guys off the field in the near future while I recover and then when I get back I'll give it everything I have on the field fighting alongside the boys again.
